Luanda Triennale
2007
Curator: Fernando Alvim
The Luanda Triennale, an initiative by artist and curator Fernando Alvim, intends to reflect Angolan history and to reconcile the Angolan public with international modernity. The Luanda Triennial questions the usual mechanisms by which culture in Africa has been promoted, and aims is to be a platform and cultural laboratory that observes and analyses society’s emotional and aesthetic changes in response to its most political and social environment.
