The Jameel Prize 3 International Exhibition
The National Library, Singapore
9 October 2015 – 30 November 2015
London's famed Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) and NTU's School of Art, Design & Media brings you the Jameel Prize 3 International Exhibition.
The Jameel Prize is an international award for contemporary art and design inspired by Islamic tradition. Its aim is to explore the relationship between Islamic traditions of art, craft and design and contemporary work as part of a wider debate about Islamic culture and its role today.
Each edition of the Jameel Prize exhibition includes an international tour. The current Jameel Prize 3 Exhibition received more than 140,000 visits at the V&A in London in 2013 and 2014 before being shown in Russia, the UAE & Singapore as its final stop.
The Jameel Prize 3 Exhibition offers a compelling look at how Islamic traditions in art, craft and design inspire contemporary artists and designers around the world today. It features works by 10 artists and designers shortlisted for the Jameel Prize in 2013. This includes artists from Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, India, Pakistan, France and Morocco.
