Beautiful Stranger
Museum De Wieger
21 May - 18 September, 2017
Curator: Diana Wiegersma
With this exhibition Beautiful Stranger , Museum De Wieger offers the unique opportunity to introduce you to contemporary art from the Arab world. A selection of paintings, photos and multimedia from one of the most important collections of contemporary Arab and Iranian art, the Nadour collection, is on display. The Nadour collection - 'nadour' means 'observation post' in Arabic - is a private collection, collected by collector Rüdiger K. Weng and curator Diana Wiegersma. The collection is the result of their many travels and numerous encounters with artists with an Arab background. With Nadour they want to offer these artists a platform and promote contemporary art from the Arab world.
