"Ce catalogue a été réalisé à l'occasion de l'exposition Walking on the light de l'artiste marocain mounir fatmi, au CCC, Centre de Création Contemporain, Tours, du 12 octobre 2014 au 18 janvier 2015.

L'exposition réunira un ensemble significatif d'une quinzaine d'œuvres récentes. L'artiste a privilégié la question de l'altérité et l'exploration du langage. Il trace un parcours hanté par la présence de deux écrivains : Salman Rushdie et John Howard Griffin. Deux hommes de langage dont les vies ont été marquées par la déconstruction de leurs identités, et par la recréation de ces identités à travers la figure de l'Autre.

"This catalogue was made on the occasion of the exhibition, Walking on the light by Moroccan artist mounir fatmi, at CCC, Centre de Création Contemporain, Tours, from 12 October 2014 to 18 January 2015.

The exhibition will bring together a significant collection of about fifteen recent works. The artist has given pride of place to the question of otherness and the exploration of language. He sets out a trail haunted by the presence of two writers: Salman Rushdie and John Howard Griffin. Two men of language whose lives were marked by a deconstruction of their identities, and of those identities being re-created through the figure of the Other.
