Composée de 3 pistes, la compilation sonore « The man without a horse » entraîne le public dans une marche laborieuse et éprouvante à travers les chemins accidentés et boueux du temps et de l'histoire. La marche de l'homme sans cheval fait écho à toutes les autres marches dans lesquelles l'humanité s'est engagée depuis ses origines : exils, migrations, exodes de populations chassées par les guerres…
La bande-son est rythmée par des bruits de pas, de respiration haletante, de marchandises s'entrechoquant et bringuebalées sur les routes. Les accords musicaux amples et répétitifs dramatisent le cheminement auquel l'auditeur assiste. Une cloche se fait entendre, qui sonne peut-être le glas pour une fiction : celle de l'homme sur son cheval, plein de maîtrise, gonflé d'un sentiment de supériorité par rapport à la nature et à toute forme d'altérité.
L'humanité a traversé les siècles, juchée fièrement sur un cheval qui a marqué son histoire en permettant l'essor du commerce, de l'agriculture et les conquêtes militaires. Notre époque voit pour sa part la fin des récits héroïques et chevaleresques, des justifications patriotiques des guerres et conquêtes, et la nécessité pour l'humanité et pour l'individu de surmonter les obstacles et d’'affronter seul sa destinée.
La compilation sonore « The man without a horse » enregistre un moment d'incertitude dans l'histoire de l'humanité : entre attachement à son ancienne position dominante et acceptation d'une confrontation solitaire à l'Histoire et au monde. L'homme sans cheval, est finalement l'homme descendu de son piédestal : la statue redevenant humaine et se mettant enfin à marcher.

Comprising three tracks, the sound compilation “The Man Without a Horse” takes the audience on a laborious and grueling hike on the uneven and muddy paths of time and history. The man without a horse’s journey echoes all the other hikes humanity has undertaken since its origins: exiles, migrations, exoduses of populations displaced by war…
The track is punctuated with the sounds of footsteps, heavy breathing, merchandise knocking together as it sways during transportion on the roads. Ample and repetitive musical chords dramatize the journey witnessed by the listener. A bell resounds, perhaps tolling for the end of a fiction: that of man mastering his horse, full of superiority with regards to nature and any form of alterity.
Humanity has gone through the centuries proudly perched on a horse that strongly influenced its history by enabling the development of commerce, agriculture and military conquests. Yet our times are witnessing the end of heroic and chivalrous tales, patriotic justifications and wars of conquest, and the necessity for humankind and individuals to surmount obstacles and face their destiny alone.
The sound compilation “The Man without a Horse” records a moment of uncertainty in the history of humanity: torn between its attachment to its former position of domination and the acceptation of a solitary confrontation with history and the world. Ultimately, the man without a horse is mankind having stepped down from its pedestal: the statue becoming human again and finally starting to walk.
